Ferrari e Scaglietti: un binomio che è stato per le auto sportive col marchio del Cavallino rampante l'esatto equivalente del binomio Ferrari e Pininfarina per le Granturismo. Con une comunanca di idee per la interpretazione univoca delle "linea Ferrari" pur nella diversa realizzazione necessaria per i due tipi di prodotto.
Di Sergio Scaglietti come uomo è stato scritto finora piuttosto poco anche perché è sempre stato schivo di pubblicità personale ed ha anteposto la Ferrari ogniqualvolta si intavolava un discorso sulla sua vicenda di costruttore di carrozzerie per la marca più famosa del mondo. Ed è una lacuna che vogliamo incominciare a colmare, perché lui è un uomo di straordinaria simpatia dissimulata dalla sua riservatezza.
A questo proposito dobbiamo ricordare che su nostra sollecitazione è stato Sergio Pininfarina ad attribuire (con grande obiettività) a Sergio Scaglietti la paternità dello spider California, che invece molti giornalisti erroneamente davano come prodotto della Carrozzeria torinese.
In questo numero di Ferrari Story il lettore troverà un po' di storia di Sergio Scaglietti ed un po' di storia della Ferrari 612 Scaglietti.

Ferrari and Scaglietti: a couple of names that has been for the sport cars with the badge of the Prancing horse the counterpoint of what it has been Ferrari and Pininfarina for the Grand Touring cars. With a basic standard to develop the "Ferrari line" albeit with a different approach for the two types of product.
Little has been written so far about Sergio Scaglietti as a person mainly because he had always refrained from appearing in the limelight and would rather put the name Ferrari forward when talking about his adventure as the builder of bodies for the most famous car constructor of the world. This is a gap that we'll try and begin to fill because he is a man of fantastic niceness half hidden by his reservedness.
On this point we'd like to remember that upon our request Sergio Pininfarina confirmed (with great objectivity) that is was Sergio Scaglietti who did the California spider: many a journalist had mistakenly written that is was a product of the Turinese coachbuilder.
In this issue of Ferrari Story the reader will find something on Sergio Scaglietti and something on the Ferrari 612 Scaglietti.

Started life as a supplement to Motor Italia in 1984, Ferrari Story developed to a standalone and mature annual magazine in 1995 until it's demise in 2009.
